New Layouts

I got some non-DT layouts done this weekend! Yay! We spent a quiet weekend at home and did as close to nothing as possible. It was awesome!!

Tomorrow, my Daddy goes into the hospital to have a stent placed in his heart. The holiday weekend was exactly a year ago that he had a heart attack and had to have stents placed then, too. Please say a prayer for him and our family!

Here is what I've been up to.

This is Black Kitty.

Journaling:
Black Kitty is usually a very sweet girl who doesn't get into trouble. But, every once in a while, she seems to completely change her character and behavior for a day. It's bizarre. We like to call a day like this "Defiant Day". She seems to do all the things she knows she is not supposed to do, like she needs to "get it out of her system" all at once. On this Defiant Day, she:
1. Bit and chewed on the leaves of a silk topiary.
2. Snuck into the bedroom, walked all over the bed (we try to keep her off due to our allergies), and hid under it!
3. While in the bedroom, she got into the closet (Forbidden Land!) and got all up in Brian's clothes.
4. When she was questioned later about her behavior, she smirked at me and gave me the stink-eye!

********** *********** **************

This is Brian and Jake Shimabukuro, a REALLY AWESOME ukulele player. We recently got to see him in concert and meet him afterward.

I got Brian to do the journaling on this one and I just copied it.

Journaling:
(Brian says:) "When I found out about Jake Shimabukuro coming within driving distance for a concert, I was ecstatic. The video of him playing "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is what inspired me to take up playing ukulele. I was thrilled to see him play live at The Red Light Cafe in Atlanta. It was a very small venue and an intimate show. I was floored at the chance to meet him. Meeting Jake was a highlight of my life. He seemed touched that he was the inspiration for me to learn my 1st instrument."

The video Brian mentions is here.

He is AWESOME!! I hope we get to see him in concert again someday.

That's about it. Have a good week!
