This is an exciting week! Wednesday, July 1st is the debut of the next issue of Scrap n' Art! And it is no ordinary issue! This upcoming issue will be the first issue with the snazzy new format! It is really awesome! I think Scrap n' Art readers, fans and newcomers alike will really, really LOVE this new format. You'll need to subscribe to view it (which is also a new change), but at only $9.99 a year (for six issues), it is a real steal! And you definitely will not be disappointed! It is packed with inspiration, projects, layouts, tips, articles and chances to win prizes, plus so much more (a subscription also includes exclusive web content for subscribers!)! So, please check it out! :D
I've been super-busy getting projects done for the NEXT issue of Scrap n' Art (September/October), which is when I'll make my Design Team Debut. But I do have three layouts coming up in the July/August issue! :D
I am sharing some layouts I did for the Scrap n' Art Blog below.
The first one is of Ginger, and this layout was for the "Negative Space Becomes Positive" Challenge. I used a butterfly die-cut paper as both a stencil (to make the white butterflies with acrylic paint), and as an element on the page, just as I would have used patterned paper. This was fun to do! (A fun fact: I included that strip of numbers from some October Afternoon Cherry Hill paper because it has both a 67 and a 77, which are our birth years. Just a little sisterly connection thing I wanted to put on there.)
This next one was for the Scrap n' Art Blog's "Monochromatic Masterpieces" Challenge. It was challenging, yet fun, to do a layout with shades of just ONE color! I used pictures of my parents' beautiful backyard garden.
Have a great week!

Negative Space
Today, over at the Scrap n' Art Blog, there is a "Negative Space Turns Positive" Challenge. I have a layout there as a DT example. Here's a sneak peek:
That's my sweet sister, Ginger. So head on over and check it out!

Cards To Share
I don't normally share cards I make on my blog; not sure why. I will try to do better at that. Here are three I made recently.
This first one is an anniversary card I made for my parents. I used the new October Afternoon Cherry Hill collection. It is so lush and pretty!
Next is a card I made for my cousin Sarah, who just graduated high school. Yay, Sarah! :D
And last is a card for my friend, Lynn, who has surgery coming up this week. Lynn, you are in my thoughts and prayers!!
Here is a neat little ukulele kit that Brian ordered and is planning to put together soon. He also ordered another partial kit to build a cigar box ukulele. I think they will both be very cool and can't wait to see them when he's done. These kits only run around $20 so I'm even thinking of ordering one and altering it as an art piece. Hmmmm...that might be really cool! I will keep you posted.
I have done several layouts for Scrap n' Art and for the Scrap n' Art blog, but I can't share them yet. Please stay tuned to the Scrap n' Art Blog for some of my work (shown with some of the challenges), along with the awesome work of the other members of the DT! I have my first blog post coming up there this Friday, June 12th. I hope it will be very inspiring! :D
