More Snow Pictures!!

Wow, What An Exciting Week!

This week, Brian was on vacation. Monday was our anniversary (13 years!). Tuesday, Mama and Ginger came to spend the night for...Wednesday, which was IKEA Day!! Thursday was a rest day (and I had an awful migraine the whole day, ugh!) and then today, Friday, we got SNOW in Middle Georgia!!! Again! For the second year in a row! That is extremely rare. Today's snowfall was much more than last year's, however.

IKEA!!! We took our new 50 mm prime lens with us and captured some really great photos.

Then, today was a very rare snow day!!! This happens so infrequently in central Georgia. We did have snow last year, but this snowfall today was a lot more than that. We had so much fun, taking pics, video, and building a snowgirl named Maude.

So, those were the highlights of our week. It was fun, but it went by way too fast!!

Let This Be Our Destiny...

Thirteen years ago today, I married my best friend and soulmate. We are very blessed and lucky, because every day is full of love and happiness together. Not a lot of people have that.


Our wedding invitation and reception napkins shared a sentiment that would turn out to be a promise, a vow all its own to the way we live our lives together. It was true then, and it's still true today.


It reads:

Let this be our destiny...
To love, to live
To begin each new day together,
to share our
lives forever



And we have. And we will. Until forever.

Scrappin', Friends and FUN!

Today, I co-held my first Lake Wildwood Scrappers meeting!! I recently met another scrapper who lives out here, named Kristi, and we got the idea to put this little group together. We had our first meeting today and it went really well! We had five people there, total, but we're hoping it will grow.

There were a couple beginners there that seemed inspired when they left, so yay! It's always great to turn people on to what a fun and therapeutic hobby scrapping is.

Another One Bites The Dust

Another hairdryer, that is. You may remember this post about when my hairdryer died. You might even remember this scrapbook layout I did about the whole unpleasant situation. That was not quite a year and a half ago, and that new Revlon I bought? Showing signs of early demise.

A couple days ago, I noticed it sounded *very* sick when it was used on the high setting, like, lots of rattling, shaking and terroristic threats to my hair. The low setting, however, is much nicer, so at least it's still *useable*. However. On the high setting, it takes about 5 minutes to dry my hair. On the low setting, it takes closer to 15. Maybe 20. So you see the obvious problem here. Unless I wanted to take a chance on the hairdryer blowing up in my hand while using it on the high setting, or, I wanted to just resign to a life of extremely long and angsty blow-drying, I would need to get a new hairdryer. Again.

In case you don't remember, I LOVED my Conair. I didn't get a Conair this last time because I was desperate, choosing from the selection that Wal-Mart had. Well, not this time, peeps. I knew I must seek out the Conair. Brian and I went to Target last night because I figured they'd have a better selection than Wal-Mart. Bingo.

A whole wall of dryers, curlers, and other hair accoutrement was there on display, not just with adequate stock--they were out of the boxes as samples you could hold and try out. So, of course, I did. :D

Brian took that picture with the camera on his phone. It's craptacular!!

(Brian also had Happy Fun Time throughout Target taking pictures of random things, then posting them on his blog with hilarious descriptions if you wanna check that out, too.)

Anyway, that Conair is almost identical to my loved-and-lost one. Unfortunately, they discontinued my old one, so I couldn't get that exact model, but this one was very similar. This made me happy. Can't you see the glee on my face?!

Plus, it had a nifty little orange clearance sticker on it. Sweet.

I got that one, haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but I have no doubt it will be awesome.

This concludes your newest installment in my hairdryer saga. Hopefully the next chapter is far, far away from being written.

I must, must, must have this new collection or I will seriously die. Seriously.

And Cosmo Cricket is tryin' to kill me, too. Gotta have all three of their new ones.

It's That Time Of Year Again...

Oh yeah. Tonight, my life shall once again be complete. I love American Idol more than a normal person probably should. But who ever said I was normal, right? :D Plus, I need some musical hijinks to help distract me from the fact that it's still four months until the Glee Season 2 premiere.

I was sad to hear that this will be Simon Cowell's last season, but I think the show will be ok. I am excited to see Ellen as a judge this season. And I am also excited to see Neil Patrick Harris and Kristin Chenoweth as guest judges during the auditions.

Yay, American Idol!!

Sweet Girl

Sleepy is one of the sweetest cats I've ever met. It is so hard to believe that just under two years ago, she was a wild, feral outside cat who shied away from us. All of a sudden, she warmed up to us and was totally tame. Since then, she has adjusted beautifully to living indoors. She is so sweet and loving. She is rambunctious and playful, too, but mostly she just wants to lie with us and be loved and petted.

I snapped these pictures of her over the weekend. The kitties love to all pile up on the bed and enjoy the warmth and sun, as our room is the warmest and gets the most light during the day.




We love our Sleepy girl. :)
